As Don Harrison sets his alarm clock for an early morning on the job as Style's new arts and culture editor, he's penned a couple of closing pieces that speak volumes about the good work Save Richmond did in recent years.
The first is a closing piece on CenterStage, along with an extensive Q&A with the PR team helping keep Richmond's new performing arts center focused on the prize. The pieces together probably raise more questions than they answer, but they should serve as a reminder that there are very few journalists in town with the time, focus or resources to ask tough questions of major public initiatives like CenterStage. (Yes, I know, Jason...)
As hyper-focused as Don and Save Richmond could be at times on CenterStage, you can't help but appreciate their commitment, perseverance and tenacity in their coverage of a project that they just felt had gone astray from the get-go.
The last piece is Don's quasi-farewell as he warms up his writing arm for those frantic Monday deadlines.
