In what might be his most significant endorsement to date, John McCain has picked up a tepid nod from the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Depending on your perspective, this is either an affirmation of how little the paper's editorial page has moved since Ronald Reagan transformed the conservative landscape in 1980 or a reminder of how increasingly out-of-touch the editorial team is with Central Virginia's rapidly changing landscape.
Either way, the endorsement is too little, too late. Most Central Virginians have made up their minds, and the Times-Dispatch's late endorsement of a struggling candidacy will have little impact on the results next Tuesday.
