Just skimming the opening page of The Huffington Post ("Delivering news and opinion since May 9, 2005.) makes my head hurt.
Maybe it's the design -- sort of a faux news mock-up that culls images of early print issues of The Onion from my memory (minus the image of Jesus slam-dunking a basketball for the Atlanta Hawks). Maybe it's all the opinions -- Arianna's opinion, Ellen's opinion, John's opinion, David's opinion. As in Huffington, Degeneres, Cusack and Mamet. In Huffington Land we're all important and our ideas matter.
As Harry (Shearer) says in his opening missive: "These pieces are presented raw, and without unneccesary chopping..."
Part of me cheers the news that I get to read the unadulterated opinions of celebrities, edited only by their personal media advisors. A larger part of me hopes Arianna finds it in her heart to hire an editor.
