Appropriately enough, as I write this post, a number of Richmonders are hanging out at the University of Richmond learning about green transportation and green cities from Ford Motor Company's manager of social responsibility, David Berdish, and a panel of local urban/environmental experts. The discussion – "Sustainable Transportation: Where Will Richmond Be In 2030?" – is a co-production of UR's Environmental Studies Program, Leadership Metro Richmond and the Sustainable Transportation Initiative of Richmond.
On an entirely different front, the Creative Change Center (C3) is going to explore new and creative ways to conserve energy next week at their monthly Breakfast Club event. The April event features Mark Webb from Dominion Resources' Alternative Energy Solutions Group, and will be held at 7:30 a.m. next Tuesday, April 20. Details and registration can be found here. Webb will focus on "conservation load management, renewable power, and technological advances making conservation and the use of alternative sources of energy, such as offshore wind, more user-friendly (and eco-friendly!)," the C3 announcement says. The event costs $15.00, and includes breakfast.
