Shades of the 3/50 Project! (For the record, my three are all coffee shops. My other three include a dry cleaner, a printing company and Ukrop's.)
This morning, the Times-Dispatch's publisher, Tom Silvestri, invited the paper's readers to hit the streets and visit three local attractions. He's seeking input in advance of the board of the Richmond Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau's pending strategic planning process.
What if everyone in metropolitan Richmond followed the board's assignment? Go to at least three attractions during the summer. Share your experiences. Get friends and family (expanding to those out-oftowners you know) to join in.
At least two results would occur: We'd know more about the Richmond region. And, these attractions would get some needed help during a recession.
You can find further instructions from Silvestri, along with a list of attractions, in his Sunday column. I plan on sharing some thoughts with Silvestri on visits to the Children's Museum of Richmond, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and the Valentine Richmond History Center.
