Erin Taylor emerged from this week's HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) event with her own take on the "If We Ran Richmond" discussion:
i was especially and pleasantly surprised by last night's event. there
was a decent turnout, and lots of brainstorming...what's the most
exciting thing happening in richmond? what are the biggest issues
facing richmond? what are your goals for richmond's next 5 years?
now what? there was a great exchange of ideas last night, now we have to put it in to action. personally, i would like to see the ideas chunked together, and begin collaborating with various group to create solutions to the problem...
tell me about it. for example, a goal was to improve the bus systems, create taxi stands, and begin light/high speed rail systems. so why not gather the young blood, the grtc people, the taxi drivers, amtrak, etc, etc etc...is this solution too common sense or too simple?
