It's been a couple of weeks now since RVNews stepped up its site design, which dramatically elevated the site's own, unique content and bumped the community news toward the bottom of the page. On the one hand, the site looks much snappier and raises the bar for the RVANews crew to deliver solid content. But it is disappointing to see the community weblogs get nudged into a less visible corner of the site.
On the other hand, maybe it just creates a new opening for the Times-Dispatch to finally get its newsprint-stained arms around community news in a big way. That might be a bit of a daydream on my part.
