I'm not sure there's anything particularly sexy about being picked from three different angles by the hyperlocal web aggregator Outside.in for doing what passes for good work, but it's still a little flattering. Nina, who is my new Outside.in virtual drinking buddy, not only dropped me a note of congratulations yesterday, but noted that my name was now spelled correctly on the Outside.in Department of Blogiology's rundown of Richmond weblogs.
For the record, I double-dipped.
Buttermilk & Molasses landed smack in the middle of the Top 5 Richmond Blogs, as measured by an invisible (to you and me) string of variables like "total number of posts, location of posts, and links from other sites in the community [that] identified the Buttermilk & Molasses as a top blog in the Richmond area." So, that was nice.
Nicer still was the unwitting tip of the hat in the direction of one of my other blogs -- the hyperlocal North Richmond News with its coverage of all things Lakeside, Bellevue, Ginter Park and surrounding communities. North Richmond News joined four of its peeps in a five-way tie at the top of the Top 5 Richmond Blogs mountain, and Northside was tagged as the "bloggiest neighborhood" in Richmond.
I guess I'd better get off my duff and post more.
