MID-VACATION VERDICT 1400 miles is a lot of ground to cover in two days. Ithaca is lovely, especially during snowfalls. The Moosewood Cafe makes good dressing, but is generally so-so (even during snowfalls). Binghamton needs revitalization, particularly because it has some truly stellar public buildings. Three-year-olds are exhausting, even cheerful ones. Three-week-olds are sort of just there, especially when they don't fuss much. I have an inate ability to locate good coffee shops from the interstate -- and went six for seven this week. A turkey-free Thanksgiving ain't no big deal. My friends are worth it.
